Pulsatilla 30c: The common name is ‘Wind Flower’ and this botanical is included to relieve ear pain that is “worse at night.”
Chamomilla 30c: The common name is ‘Chamomile’ (like the tea.) This botanical, relieves the symptoms of restlessness or irritability.
Sulphur 30C: This mineral relieves the symptoms of throbbing, pulsing pain in ears.
Calcarea Carbonica 30C: Also a mineral, Calc Carb relieves the symptoms of ear pain with a burning sensation.
Belladonna 30C: Commonly known as ‘Nightshade’, this botanical relieves the symptoms of fever and inflammation. Don’t worry about the toxicity of this medicine. It is true that Belladonna in its original state (much higher concentrations) can cause health problems, but when used homeopathically, the toxic components are highly diluted, and it is literally impossible to overdose on this product.
Lycopodium 30C: The common name is ‘Club Moss’, and this botanical is for relieving the symptoms of pain and congestion in ears.
Belladonna is a beautiful plant with bright red berries on it. As it grows in nature, the berries are toxic and should be avoided at all costs. We use Belladonna homeopathically, which means we use micro-doses of the botanical. These micro-doses are prepared by diluting the plant material over and over, which dilutes the toxins, making the possibility of overdosing on the Belladonna virtually impossible. Belladonna, when prepared homeopathically, is safe for medicinal use by the whole family.
Hyland’s Earache products were developed for use and shown to be most effective in the first 48 hours of the episode. You can use the products after the first 48 hours, but should not continue using them once improvement is noted. If symptoms persist for 7 days or worsen, discontinue use and seek the advice of a physician.
Earache Tablets were designed for use after diagnosis by a physician and are not intended to avoid the trip to the doctor for a proper diagnosis.
While homeopathic medicines are very safe, you need to contact your physician before using these or any other medicines while you are pregnant or nursing a baby.
Earache tablets are easy to use and will dissolve almost instantly in the mouth. Simply remove them from the blister packaging by peeling back the paper lid and put them in your mouth. They will dissolve quickly.
No, you don’t. If you put the ear drops into the ear and keep your head tilted for a couple of minutes afterwards, the medicine will be absorbed into the ear canal and go to work. You don’t have to worry about the ear drops leaking out of your ear and down your neck!
Citric Acid actually works to normalize the pH balance in the ear. When pH rises, it decreases the body’s ability to prevent bacterial growth. Lowering pH with citric acid restores the body’s ability to defend itself against bacteria.
The Earache Drops were designed to be used in the ears, not internally. The Earache Tablets dissolve instantly, so they are not difficult to swallow like other conventional drugs. You can always dissolve the tablets in a half teaspoonful of water and take the teaspoon of liquid immediately if you cannot dissolve them in your mouth. The Earache Drops will not harm you if you swallow them, but they won’t work to ease your ear pain, either.
It appears that the bottle of Hyland’s tablets that you have has become moldy. If the homeopathic tablets have become moldy, it means that moisture and mold spores have somehow entered into the bottle of tablets. DO NOT use that bottle of tablets. In the future, you should not touch the tablets or put them back into bottle once they have been removed. We do not use preservatives in our tablets, so touching them could contaminate them with bacteria, mold or other microorganisms. When administering the tablets, it is best to shake the tablets into the bottle cap, and then tip them directly into your mouth without touching the cap to your mouth in order to avoid introducing saliva into the cap or bottle. Also, the tablets should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from any excessive heat or moisture. A bathroom, because of its moist environment, would not be a good place to store Hyland’s homeopathic tablets. If the tablets are discolored upon the first opening of the bottle, please call Hyland’s customer service at 800-624-9659.
