Get your exercise

As if you needed another reason to exercise, did you know that getting more exercise can help you sleep better? Combined with a regular bedtime routine, exercising four times a week may increase your overall sleep time by 1.25 hours each night, according to a recent study published in the journal Sleep Medicine. But as with everything, timing is everything. Try not to exercise too close to bedtime, it could be energizing and that's not what you want.

Day Six Challenge: Start small and try for at least 30 minutes of activity 3-4 times this week. Try walking short distances instead of driving, playing outdoors with your children, taking advantage of a Groupon for a fun local class or just dust off an old yoga DVD. Or even take advantage of the extra hour of daylight and take an evening stroll to enjoy the sunset with friends or family. The fading sun will also help cue your body that the day is ending which makes sleep that much easier!
